It's not normal for any dog to be like this. No dog of any breed should bite, especially not their owners. It sounds from what you've described that your dog considers itself to be top dog in the household. There's a few ways that this can be resolved - always make sure that the dog knows you're in charge, not him. If he tries to jump on furniture, push him off again. Refuse to let him on any furniture until you invite him up there. If he won't let you push him off and threatens with teeth, attach a long lead to him and leave it on in the house as long as you're there to supervise. When he jumps up, grab the lead and tug him off. Also make sure that whenever the two of you are heading through a door that you go first, not him. He needs to learn to follow his owners. Before he gets anything, attention food or toys, make him do something small like sit. Make sure he knows the command well, so you can be certain it's stubbornness and not ignorance that he's disobeying you. If he won't sit when you tell him to, he doesn't get fed. Try again half an hour later - if he doesn't sit, he doesn't get fed. If the dog starts staring, look straight back at him - eye contact is a sign of dominance in dogs, and you do not want to submit to your pet. It has a lot of info and advice. I really recommend reading it closely.

Any strong temperamented dog can get this far out of hand if the owner doesn't firmly establish himself or herself as "alpha" dog in the house and demand the dog's respect. Obedience training in a class is the best answer, where the dog will learn to obey even with other dogs around, and where there is an instructor who can step in and help if need be, with a problem dog. Many small dogs behave as you describe simply because the owners let the little dogs get away with too much dominant behavior. The best rule is if you wouldn't tolerate the behavior out of a 100 pound dog, don't let a 3 pound dog do it either!

I think this is not normal. We happen to breed and had many mini Pinscher but most of them were good tempered because the came from champion male and female (pedigreed). . Very rare you would see an aggressive one. It is just by coincidence you happened to own a bad tempered mini Pinscher. Maybe it would need dog training.

Mini pinchers typically have a lota of ^fire^ and can get outta hand & beileve they rule the world if allowed. I will join the goup recomending an obedience class - hard the believe you are king of the world when sitting & downing to command. As an added bonus: if he discovers pleasing you can in fact be rewarding, he will likely become more affectionate too!

First of all, the behavior you're describing is not even close to being "very violent". It sounds like you don't like min pins and are looking for validation.

I'm sure that some min pins are the way you describe, but that's not characteristic of the entire breed, or certainly not any of the ones I've known.

I would train immediatly, my mother in law has a mini dachshund and spoils the thing to heck and never corrects it and the little Bass turd bite her in the face and when she does correct him now he growls and barks at her as to say hit me again and I will kill you! dont let him control you in this way or your dog will be the horror of your life for a very longtime.
