The Catholic Church teaches that the Pope is infallible at closely defined times.
The Pope is only infallible when he, in union with the body of bishops, solemnly teaches that a doctrine as true.
This comes from the words of Jesus to Peter (the first Pope) and the Apostles (the first bishops), "Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven" (Matthew 18:18) and "He who hears you hears me" (Luke 10:16).
At all other times the Pope can be just as sinful as you and me and be in need of forgiveness.
With love in Christ.

Hi there.
Not only is the papacy extremely fallible, it's also unbiblical. You will find no support in the New Testament for it's existence.
How infallible can the late John Paul be considered after kissing a copy of the Koran at the Vatican, May 14, 1999 ? For picture see www.traditioninaction.org/RevolutionPhotos/A055rcKoran.htm
(Please note - this is a RC website)
The Koran denies the central Christian doctrines of the Sonship of Jesus and His death and resurrection, but take a look at what the so - called "Holy Father" did for the sake of political expediency.
Add to that the latest pope's shenanigans in Turkey recently - praying in a mosque with a Muslim cleric of an antichrist religion (1 John 2:22,23). Is it not clear that even today's papacy is a God - dishonouring institution at the head of an unbiblical caricature of Christianity ?
Revelation 18:4
May God bless you and guide you into all truth.

The Pope are said to be infallible in certain subjects like faith and morality and they are declared as such.
I hope Pope Benedict will shade a light on this matter if he wants to be infallible, because I understand, He has different beliefs from previous Popes and leaders, knows the meaning well of God`s covenant and understand well the Holy Bible.
He talks differently like He has a direct connections/relationships with God, and don`t just follow traditions without understanding well. He is revolutionary and thats a good thing. But he is the net, he just can`t move on his own without being beset with traditions.
To me, Pope is never infallible, and they cannot even act like true Christ which they represent, though they want to, they are just trap in a traditional religions ways. I pity them. I`m afraid, they might not be save at all if they insist on traditionalism.

When Martin Luther wrote his 95 thesis in the 1500s, the Pope was heavily involved in Homosexuality, but not one of the Thesis was about either the Pope or Homosexuality, just the decrepid state the church was in at that time. Which makes one wonder if infalibiltity can even be used in the same sentence as the Pope.

YES YES YES!!!! All the popes are infallible. That's not to say that he is sinless or that he can't make make a wrong prediction about the weather or something.Infallibility of the pope simply means that he can't make a mistake on the things he teaches concerning the faith like for instance his stance on contraception or about the immaculate conception.

If the pope is infallible and therefore cannot make mistakes, then why did he apologise to the muslim council for saying that islam was not a peaceful religion......If the pope was infallible he would not have had to say sorry..............the fact is that the teaching of the infallibility of the pope is false like all the other teachings of christendom

I am told they are all infallible but only on certain occasions and about certain things. I am not sure if that means you have to wait for the secon Tuesday in each month for infallible words to be spoken or if it only occurs when he sees his shadow after coming out to wave at everyone.
No really...why hate on any religion. They all have some ritual or doctrine that is misunderstood and therefore seen as ridiculous to someone outside that faith. Let them deal with God the way they want.

NO! not one pope is infallable, It is the Sovereign God who is infallable. The pope needs a saviour like one of us, he is a created by God like us. As the scripture says "No one is right in the sight of God." "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Therefore the pope is also a sinner who needs a saviour. He must repent of his sins and accept the Lord Jesus as his Lord and Saviour an be baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

NO pope has ever been infallible. IF the were, then later popes wouldn't make any changes...everything would have already been done right the first time...policies would not have to change...ideas would not have to be clarified, expanded on, altered, or reversed...
