The only advantage to your black belts may be the fact that you may already understand what discipline is.

Civilian discipline is, however different than military discipline.

You may be able to use some of your skills in the military (intramural activities) but not likely in combat.

Basic training and other advanced training will showing you how, and what to do, when. Martial arts is not a major training component in any branch of the military. There are no elaborate Bruce Lee fight scenes when there are real guns, and real bullets, not cameras around.

The only things you will be breaking will be your bad habits if you join.

Several Black Belts? And you are, what, 17 years old? That isn't going to impress most recruiters. I'd guess any Sergeant would be able to mop the floor with you.

Take the tests. Get in a good MOS and get through boot and your specialty school. And then find the place on the base where they teach the Combat Martial Art. Get a black belt in that and you'll have something.

It will help you pass the Physical Training test administered during basic training, but that is it. After having spent 20 years in the military, I can tell you that the military does not consider martial arts training when helping you select an occupational specialty. Your ability in Martial arts will help you train you mind and body to perform well during very difficult tasks, but will do very little when it comes to a specific job.

When you are assigned to your permanent duty station, the ability to train and keep up your martial arts skills will be challenged. Having a Black belt in Tae Kwon Do did nothing for me. Once you have a specialty selected, specific training for that job takes place and it has very little (if any) relationship to martial arts (despite what you may hear or see in the movies).

Everyone in the Marine Corps is taught how to fight, yours is just official. Contrary to popular belief, very little of the military is about fighting (yes, yes, I see your hand back there. I know the military is supposed to kill things and break people...or is it the other way around?), it is mostly about following orders and carry out the mission. Do us all a favor, take your skills to the UFC or Pride Fighting Championship, or do something usefull, like trying to headbut the Eiffel Tower into submission.

wow. great skills. If what ever country you are from gets attacked by a Appliance store they should call you. You could take care of the lumber, tile and lighting sections. In real combat the person with the gun would splatter your gray matter all over the side walk way before you got close.

First, you take the ASVAB test and that will tell you what
jobs that you are suited for, Second, You take 9 weeks of basic training to see if you are fit for the military, Third,
you will go on to Advanced Individual Training, Fourth,
You can apply for Ranger School or Special Forces
School and you can keep training on your Martial Arts
Skills. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

No. The military will teach you their form of hand to hand combat not skills for self defense but for killing the enemy without mercy.
Martial Arts won't work with 100lbs on your back and bullets flying towards you.

The only thing that is required for military service is that you keep your mouth shut and your eyes and ears open. And a high school diploma and graduating from basic.

Take the ASVAB which is usually available in every high school or through the military. It will tell you what jobs fit your skills an interests. If you're relatively intelligent aim for the special forces.

Big Fat Hairy Deal. Act like that in Basic Training/Boot Camp, and you will be doing 8 count body builders until you collapse.

Martial arts training means squat. your ASVAB line scores will determine which jobs you are eligible for. other factors also come into play, citizenship, color blindness, ie, as well.

Thats all great but that super pride will label you. It is the ability to be mentally nimble as well that is what would balance you. The military is full of "hard core privates" which are the first ones to be beaten down. So doing what you are doing is great..... but study and work on your mind as well. Concentrate on history and such....... a window on why the enemy thinks the way they do. This will seperate you from the pack of idiots.
