That the guy trying to be her friend is "hitting" on her? What if the guy simply just wants a friendship? Are they on a leash or what? becuz it's pathetic. What's wrong with making more guy friends?
What would be an easily way to tell her that all I want is a friendship? Then perhaps later on, if she breaks up, I can make a move hehehe

Well a relationship has to start somewhere right? if she does not want to be my friend then where's the chance? If she has a BF, I'd respect that and not try anything.

And a friendship is better then not seeing/meeting her again.

It's not an assumption, it's a fact! :)) Ok, most of the guys want something more than a friendship, if the girl is attractive. And you said that when you refer "make a move"!! What do you look for in a relationship? Isn't it a good friend? Imagine being in love with a good friend!
If I were you, I would assume and make a move NOW!

If friendship is all you really want then tell her that.. I know from personal experience that when a guy usually ''says'' that he only wants friendship it's usually lies... allot of woman have this problem and if you don't tell her then she'll most likely assume that you want more then that because that's probably all she's used to...

~Check you out! You answered your own question by saying "if she breaks up, I can make a move hehehe." You're hoping for a future relationship while being her "friend." No wonder girls assume that hu?
You should always start out being a friends anyhow.~

whats pethetic is this whole senario.
the first part u talk up a good game in the whole friend thing. then u turn around and say well maybe i can get her on the rebound. she sees through u dude. she is saying no now, because she means no now, no later.
u just proved u would not be a good friend to her, ur not being totally honest about ur intentions.

You sound like you want to hit on her.
If this is the case, then tell her that you respect her relationship (implying that you wouldn't hit on someone who's taken) and then if she DOES break up, you never said you were only a friend :P

As a woman with many male friends, the answer is pretty obvious to me. Tell her the truth. Women love having male friends, and a lot of times it does lead to something more. Just be honest. Really!

Well sadly guys have went out of their way to try to get us in bed at all costs then try to have friendships, so we do seem weary when a guy is being "friendly".

Girls assume because we are usually correct. Just tell her straight out, but most guys can't be just friends with girls, somewhere in their mind they want more and girls can tell that,

Good for you. Guys like you are the exception and not the rule.
When I was single, I really liked having guy friends - but found it hard because they always wanted more. I would have been your friend. :)
Enjoy your day!
