I am gettting ready to use my silicone muffin pan for the first time. I do not have the instructions that came with it and I was wondering if I have to grease the pan and most importantly, do I put it on a cookie sheet. I can't imagine how I'm going to get it into the oven without putting on a cookie sheet. It's so flexible.

Anyone have experience with this?

Whether or not you grease the pan depends on the brand. If you know the brand, try checking the manufacturer's site for the instructions, or a summary of the features, or Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ). The KitchenAid muffin pan page says 1) non-stick so no need to grease the pan and 2) comes with a sled for stability (if yours doesn't have a sled, use the cookie sheet to avoid batter disaster!). The SiliconeZone site FAQ says to always follow the recipe regarding greasing and flouring, and that you can use a baking tray underneath to make it easier to put in and take out of the oven.
P. S. Epinions reviews include one KitchenAid review that said the muffins stick if you don't use a cooking spray or grease or oil the pan.

Muffin Pan - Silicone) This non-stick silicone rubber muffin pan is ideal for baking muffins and cup cakes without paper cup liners. The manufacturer's literature states that it is safe to use at temperatures up to 450 degrees; however, we never recommend baking any muffins or cup cakes above a temperature of 350 degrees. Its flexibility allows for easy removal of the muffins or cup cakes. The silicone rubber muffin pan can also be used in a microwave oven. To prevent damage, use only plastic or rubber utensils with silicone ware.

I have 2 6-muffin silcone pans that make extra large muffins.

I do spray them with Pam and put them on a baking sheet. Mine are light blue so they discolour with use but I really enjoy using them. In fact, I use my bundt cake recipes for them (reducing the baking time) and make "mini-cakes" which are so handy to always have in the freezer for when a friend drops by.

To remove the cupcakes or muffins, I wait until they have cooled a bit them I just flex them up through the bottoms and then leave the cupcakes or muffins to finish cooling on a rack while I clean the pans.

I wash them with regular liquid dish soap and a soft sponge.

no you do not need to grease or put the muffin cups. and the pan works like any other... the only suggestion i have is use a cookie sheet to put under the tray before you fill with the batter and keep it with the cookie sheet while in the oven it isi easier to move it around with out making a mess

Don't use them in more than 500 degrees. They actually work very well. My mom uses them as heat-resistant pads for the countertops. She also has like the silicone spoon, bowls and oven mitts.

I have one of these, even though it appears to be non-stick, I use cooking spray , because it is not, however you could use any traditional method for greasing such as butter, shortening or shortening and flour or your favorite spray.

Also I do put it on a cookie sheet. It's almost impossible to handle getting in and out of the oven unless you use one.
