The atonement is a doctrine found within Christianity , It describes how sin can be forgiven by God. Atonement is said to be the process of forgiving or pardoning a transgression.
In Christian theology, the atonement refers to the forgiving or pardoning of sin through the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, which made possible a reconciliation between God and creation.

The Atonement was needed because of the nature of humans, to be sinful, or to make mistakes.
To correct these mistakes, we have Christs Atonement. It is certainly a diffucult concept to comprehend, but through study you can learn how to apply it into your life and find true joy.

...This helps me to remember what this means: separate "atonement" into syllables, and you get
"at-one-ment", meaning Jesus Christ paid for all sin at one time - sin has fully been paid for by his atoning work on the cross.
...Do you know the hymn "Hallelujah, What a Savior" - one verse goes this way:
Guilty, vile, and helpless we
Spotless Lamb of God was He
Full atonement, can it be!
Hallelujah, what a Savior!
...And indeed, what a marvelous, wonderful Savior is Jesus our Lord.
...Blessings to you.

God required sinless blood atonement, since man is not sinless, God sent himself, to be a man, while being God, and shed his blood for man's redemption.

Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

At-one-ment. The "re-integration" of that which could never be disintegrated: Us, God's Beloved, in and of, at one with Christ. Christ is our true Self, our being.
