Not sure of a remedy, but the best prevention is to keep on drinking!!! If it's a beer hangover, try drinking some already flat. Or tomato juice with just a little bit of beer mixed!

Drink lots of water (even though it might make you feel drunk again), the water dilutes your system and re-hydrates you. Take two aspirin (I think aspirin thins the blood or something and helps). Actually, if you take two aspirin with some water before you go to sleep right when you knew you were drunk, that will help you when you later wake up. Some say drink more alcohol. Don't...that's just stupid and only maybe putting a small patch on the problem not taking care of the bigger issue of wanting to feel better. Sleep and rest alot...settle and and watch a good movie.

I'm an alcoholic (16-24 beers a night) and I'll tell you straight up:
#1 take a benzodiazapine like Ativan (take 2mg) or Klonopin (2mg) this will calm your fried nerves and make you feel 80% better...do not take Xanax as it will wear off fast leaving you feeling like shite
#2 Drink lots of fluid (h2o, gatorade, whatever)
#3 once you can stomach it eat some cole slaw; cabbage has "chelators" in it which clean the toxins out of you blood, the toxins called "acehaldyhydes" (or something like that) cause you to feel bad (ie headache, body ache, mental confusion and foggyness)
so pretty much any cabbage product you can stomach will help, egyptians even wrote poems about drinking to much and drinking cabbage brine and then going to work ...and you know they worked hard cause they built the pyramids.
#4 sleep (if you can) if you have to go to work, good luck because the klonopin probably left you pleasantly tranquilized, hope you can focus without falling asleep.
these steps really work, they actually prescribe ativan to some alcoholics so they can function... in fact they shoot you up with 2-4mg of ativan in the hospital if you go into delirium tremens (alcohol withdrawel) and believe me I KNOW about that... I use klonopin though, it works... I haven't gone through full blown DTs in 3 years cause I have my tranks =)
I know it sounds sad, but I'm really happy that I can manage my alcoholism.
peace out.

Alcohol causes your body to dehydrate which causes the hangover. The best cure is to drink lots of water to rehydrate, along with a couple of paracetamol.

Drink about 1 pint of water for every 3 pints of beer you drank, drink the water BEFORE you go to bed, best thing to do is to place about 2 or 3 pints of water beside your bed before you go out drinking, then when you get back drink them.
I hope this helps, happy drinking!

Lying in bed until it stops hurting, aspirin, drink water, shower, cooked breakfast with strong coffee. But not neccessarily in that order. Ideally you could do all of the above before waking up...
