Tube bundle design is dictated by code and starts with fin area and materials. This determines the number of tubes and length, and then determines the size of the box, etc.

Most companies have proprietary systems that do these calculations and then automatically design the unit and kick out a print package and all computer data and files required to build the box, such as plasma table programs, etc. Very highly automated system for most people.
