top of gearbox just under the gearbox mount. to test if it is the problem disconnect the plug and bridge the connector. if the reverse lights come on u know it is the switch. if not u could have a wiring problem or just blown globes.

Normally a switch is mounted onto the transmission with two wires on it, and is usually close ot the linkage. Unhook the connector with the two wires on it and then you can unscrew the switch out of the transmission body. Reverse steps to install the the new switch. Hope this helps.

the backup light switch is located on the transmission,and you do not repair them you replace them,you can not get them apart without destroying them
