I heard there is a way to get her green card and travel documents legally within 2 months. I have also heard that it can take up to 3 years. Does anyone have any info on the faster way to get it done?

i would say that getting a lawyer is the best way, but check them out and make sure they are true lawyers.( you would be surprised how many notaries ( which are not lawyers here but in other countries are ) claim to be true lawyers. And go to several to see if they all suggest same action and price, most first consults are free. Going with the I-130 is a start , but if they are trying to deport here ( because her visa is expired) it would be better to get a lawyer. also if you file the I-485 and there are no visas available , when it comes time to adjust her status she will be asked to leave the country .unfortunately visa waiting period depends on the country you are trying to obtain the visa for. I think estimated time for Mexico can be as low as 1year and six months.also this will sound stupid but make sure you have evidence that supports a true relationship, ( photos, love notes and documents in both your names) okay I'll quit ranting know- not an expert just know from experience- on the web site below just pick the service center closest to you and the have filing time periods. or this is the main web site and you can research all the info you need unfortunately they have re-done the site and all my links don't work.

The quickest way to get her a green card is to file a concurrent I-130 for her. It can take anywhere from 6-24 months (depending upon the backlog in your local office) to get her green card, which will allow her to travel. She is not eligible for a travel document (I-131) while she is waiting because she is out of status. They may give her one, but if she uses it, she will be barred from re-entry for 10 years. You should consult with an immigration attorney (not a "consultant". They often take your money and screw up your case!) The best way to tell if your attorney is an "immigration attorney" is if they are a member of AILA, the American Immigration Lawyers Association. They give a very nice certificate with a gold seal to their members. If they say they are a member, but don't have the certificate hanging on the wall, call AILA at 202-216-2400 to verify their status.

file the I-485 for her which consist of the petition application, the adjustment status, work permit etc.. It will cost you about $400 for the process if you do it yourself. The process can take anywhere from 6 months to 24 months depend if you live in a heavily immigrated state. Good luck, because she is married to you and you being a citizen she will be okay. In some cases they will ask the applicant to go home and wait for her paperwork. I say find a lawyer they can work around those laws.

You need to consult with an immigration attorney. The attorney's know what forms to file and the quickiest way to go about it. If you go through a consultant you might not the the speed you want in this process.

congrats on your marriage.

it really depends on where your wife is from and what her status was already! My husband is from Mexico and we are still waiting on his papers that we applied for a year ago! GOOD LUCK!

I do not believe there is a quick paper solution; it will take her awhile to get the "greencard" even if married in good faith.
