I can only say that this happened to me. I was only about 6, I am 26 now. My parents were already divorced. I was visiting my Dad and his new girlfriend. I guess they thought I was asleep because they had sex right there in the same room. Not the most responsible parent...I have no relationship with my father today. I dont think this had anything to do with that however I was totally grossed out and confussed. I was afraid of anything sexual for a long time, I really wish someone would have talked to me about it at the time, but I was too scared to tell anyone.
I am fine now but it is definately not one of my fondest childhood memories.

Never, never good! No matter what the age. I mean, if the child is young they have to go around with this terrible secret. What if they have no one to talk to, or the parents don't care, know, whatever. Children want to trust the parent. They don't want to attach those feelings with them. It is very neglectful of the parent. Of couse they can work through it. But, how many of you out there really believe it ever is? Are kids really ready for the responsibility of that knowledge? BTW, good question. I sure hope some of you are listening.
