I have had a sore throat going on 2 weeks now that waxes and wanes. I have tested negative for strep twice, as soon as I am done with an antiobiotic course (complete) - it returns as nasty as ever - what else can this crud be?

Boil some pears, and put sugar in it and eat it. I am sure it will help. ^_^

Allergies can be the cullprit, sore throats are sometimes
caused by post nasal drip,get rid of the allergy get rid of the sore throat.

Have you been super-exhausted?? Sometimes mono will start with a really sore throat. Maybe you should go in and have a blood test done.

it sounds like you aren't getting enuf antibiotics to get rid of the infection, you could help yourself by gargling with salt water, brushing your teeth lots, to keep bacteria down

Do you smoke? Had chest X-rays? Throat culture?

it may be because of meningococcus infection if it is from a bacterial infection.
