God is described as spirit is from the teaching of certain religions such as Christians. If you want to know about God from other perspective which say God really exist but He is not spirit, try reading articles in this website: www.harunyahya.com. Absolutely not...Even you have your own spirit animated through your physical existance...Spirits do exist, and that is the difference between humans and animals, we were created in God's image, and He is spirit.
Christ even said "God is Spirit, and thus must be worshiped in Spirit."

Any attempt at defining any god of any sort is an attempt at rationalizing ones own leap of faith. Faith is nothing more than a bridge gap between what "someone" or "some group" wants you to believe, and what you experience in YOUR day to day existence.
