The important thing is to lead a good life and try and do good for others. A person's sexuality is not a fundamental issue and definitly not grounds for excluding anyone.
A brief overview:

Yes indeedy. In fact, there was historically a problem with homosexual overactivity in some Japanese temples.

The importat thing to know about buddhism is that it has three different branches: theravada, mahayana, and vajrayana. Each of these is more or less involved with its community in one way or the next.

Buddhism is essentially an ethical philosophy, and not a religion. No one prays to Siddartha, for instance.

You could even be a Buddhist Christian and take the lessons of the Buddha with you lessons of christ.

Buddhism like many people thought of it as a religion, to the Far East people, it's a way of life. And by the way, it's acceptable, there has been many recorded homosexual monks.

Sure buddhism will take any queer. They will even take lawyers and the like. You see a buddist is not fearing God and punishment for sin because they are enlightened folks. So enlightened that the men sleep with the men and the woman with the woman and of course sleeping with animals is ok to just as long as you are enlightened. This kind of enlightment is what is called being in total darkness. No knowedge of the truth. No clue about anything. Take for example all these movie stars that practice buddhism. Study there lives and you will find a mess of a life, more divorces then socks, Sex with everything that walks, But they are so messed up they can't find which way is up with both hands. There friends consist of drunks and whores. Drugs and the bottle. They think fame is there desire. And they have the buddist thing down. We mediate and it will get better. In the end they are burned out, partied out and then thrown out. So did bubba hear them praying no he is dead. And he will not be coming back. The difference between Jesus and budda is Jesus came back and had 500 people witness it, And he is coming back again.
