Jesus died for us so that we may live for Him. He died for us so that we wont have to. Die. Why ask this board. You could do well to seek a pastor. God will give you the peace you are seeking when the truth is revealed to you.

A great point! Considering the doctrine that Jesus died taking on all our sins to win us divine forgiveness, preachers love to pile on the guilt for his death. In a way, Christ's death is our "fault", but in another way, it isn't. It's not as if we had any choice in the matter.

The gospel says we should take up our cross daily and follow him. It strongly implies that it is our duty to die as Jesus did. And the martyrs are considered the most blessed saints of the church. But really, as wonderful as he obviously is, we are not to die FOR him. What benefit would it be to him? Our "death" must be to the world, to reject its nearsighted values. We don't pay Jesus back. We follow his example, surrendering, losing ourselves in humble service, a death by most social standards, because that is what he taught and lived. It is not death we are to seek but a more authentic life, without fear of death.

Jesus did not die, he was lifted by God and he would return before Doom's day to fight the anti-Christ and tell the christians that Jesus is no God or son of God, but only human, a messenger of God.

Jesus died for us, BUT we must daily lay down our lives before Him and do His will, not ours. This is the meaning of dying. Sould I be put under the firing squad to renounce Christ I would not do so, cause if I do renounce Him, the one's who hold the weapons can shoot me anyway and I will then go to Hell. Keep your salvation LOL!!!

hmmmm.. If your god was a loving god, would he take YOUR sins (and you are one of his children) and put it all on this other GOOD INNOCENT son's head and torture him to death?

I dont see the love there.. did y'all guys gang up and bribe Him against this other son? God forgive me..

This isn't love. And this isn't mercy.
"It is the one who sins who will die. A son is not to suffer for this father's sins, nor a father because of the sins of his son. Good people will be rewarded for doing good, evil people will suffer for the ecil they do." Ezekiel 18:20

Think about it...
