Try saying hi. As small as that seems, it shows that you are willing (if not confident enough) to walk up to them and just start a conversation for no reason. As much as people would like to have a reason for starting a conversation (like coming to them with a question about work, or something along those lines) that keeps the conversation to a business/work like feel. By walking up to them with no reason what-so-ever other than to initiate a conversation shows that you are interested. Be confident enough to know that you are starting something with the intent to socialize and familiarize, not work. And make sure it's something you both can enjoy.

listen and observe what they like...what are they talking about? the beer they are drinking? the surroundings? what? listen!get your sense of humour going in your head,but not stupid dumb thoughts,...sense of humor is the best way to break the ice...because than you find a comfort between each other and then you know honesty comes along.communication than flows and then......
