Why would a separated man ask a woman to date? If a man is separated or engaged...either way the man is not ' clear ' to date. I'm re-asking (re-phrasing) this question for clearer understanding. I've had separated men ask me to date...I decline as technically their still married. What is the mind thought that it's maybe o.k. to date while separated ? That man is really still married. Really wondering.

They want to try their chances, but I believe you're doing the right thing not dating them.

Why? Because a man who is not responsible of his actions & family, is never trustworthy.

If they are not living as a couple then they are not a couple. No document can tell you where your heart is. Some divorces take yrs. Custody battles even longer. So that could be one thing. It's hard to make things final and some people have guilt so they procrastinate and both parties end up dating for yrs. I know several people that have been seperated for over 5yrs and both parties are in serious commited realtionships with other people.

There is no technically here. It takes two and if one has walked out or not in the realtionship anymore be them married or not it's over. Why is the legal jargon married bothering you.

So a seperated man asked you out...be glad! People are in different phases of life and this is just a transition from married to divorced.

Not only men date when they are seperated, women do to. And you are right, they are still married, and probably shouldn't date, however enjoying the company of a friend might be just that. Sex is another issue. However being sepearated I don't see how or WHY a man would want to become sexually intimate with someone he doesn't know that well,or visa versa. Common sense would tell me at least not to get that close to someone as it could lead to more of a relationship than one is prepared to be. I think after a split both ex partners need some down time to sort of "regroup" if you will and to get their bearings back. Afterall it could have been years and years since they were dating and they need to start slow.

One way to find out if a man is married or not, or if their separated is to ask them. If they tell you they've been divorced for 6 months, their still married or their separated. I learned that when I was dating. They just want they cake and eat it too. Their in it for the sex if they can get it from you and if their wife will take them back, they'll be gone in the morning for good. And you'll be the one they make look like were hitting on them instead of it the other way around.

One light a separation can be one of two things the time of finalization in between a marriage and divorce or a trial period when two partners are hoping to recommence their marriage after a cooling off period. I suspect that most guys that have left a relationship because of infidelity or just incompatibility might figure that there is no marriage to return to so they see it as a finished proposition they are free to return to the dating scene with no repercussions or guilt hanging over them.
Many many people start relationships that last a long time while waiting for finalization of a lost relationship.
I know this is a bit one sided but this is my opinion .

First of all he is married and shouldn't be dating. I would not date anyone is this situation, your wasting your time! Yr investing time in a relationship that has limitations. He will say serious remarks to keep you by his side, they are easy to say when he cant deliver on his own words. All your doing is setting yourself up for a lot of pain, both of you! Don't worry about why people do what they do, do what you want and make yourself happy!

well i dated while i was just separated I mean i was still married but at the same time I was not in love with my spouse any more and hadn't been for a while. Maybe to the man its not about the technical stuff but about the way they feel.....

Ok, I am separated from my wife. I would like to date but I know that I am not mentally ready for it yet. My wife left me for someone else and divorce proceedings are underway-but if I was ready to date why shouldn't I? I have done nothing wrong in this situation, why should I be punished more just because my wife is a cheater?

a married man that is separated will date in a way to just give themselves a reality check on what they had. they are lonely, hurt, rebounding and looking for companionship from their failed marriage. it's also a way for them to learn an experience on how to correct their mishaps within the relationship so when they get back together, he would know what he did wrong and will correct it and prevent it from happening again.

They are all abunch of cowards. they tell there wives the need space and the need to think about things. They don't have the balls to leave her cause ultimately she has proven to him that she is willing to put up with a looser like him. You see at this point he doesn't know if he can get another woman to put up with his sh*t. Then they go looking for a replacement while they r still savely maried with all their assets intact you see its hard to take another woman on a date when ur x is sitting with half your money.
