Sometimes I feel like overweight men get off easier than fat women do when it comes to being made fun of, dating, etc. I feel like there are a lot of attractive women who do not place as much emphasis on physical appearance (especially if their man is wealthy or really funny) and, thus, fat men can get dates. However, attractive men are almost always way into looks and, thus, could care less how smart or successful a fat woman is...if she's fat, there is no chance he'll date her. I know this is not always true, but I've noticed this a lot. Still, I know a lot of fat guys get made fun of and have a hard time (especially in junior and high school). Do fat guys still have a tough time when they get older?

I've noticed that too. I guess cause the socially exceptable woman is not fat in any way shape or form. She has big boobs (depending on preference), nice butt, thighs, calves, SMALL waist...etc. The socially exceptable guy doesn't have that issue. It seems like the only time a fat dude would have a problem getting a date is if he is "a blimp" (for the lack of a better term).
It always seems weird to me when a fat dude tells a fat girl off for being fat and he's 3 times bigger than her! Has anyone forgotten about that playground rhyme, "Fat and skinny were in the bed. Fat went 'uhn' skinny went dead." Just joking about the rhyme, but really...fat dudes should be nicer to fat chicks (no pity dates, just be nicer) because we're all in the same boat!

It all about body consciousness A lady is expected by society to look her best so in today's society the stereo type is tall thin ladies in the 1800's the sexiest women were big curvaceous and firm .In this day and age of super models and magazines it must be very disheartening to be a full figured lady as were a guy can still carry 40 pounds and be said to be solid or portly not chubby not fat or over weight or letting himself go . Middle aged men look for the girls that their sons should be chasing and their sons are looking at moms best friend in her pressed suits and tennis skirt. so I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Women are just as much focused on men's appearances as men are on women's. I'm sick of that crap that women don't care as much about men's appearances. That's bull. No woman i know does not care about how a guy looks. IT IS THE MAIN FACTOR. And i'm talking A LOT of women. So - i don't think "fat" guys have it worse that women. I think the only difference is- Better looking women go out with lesser attractive guys- to feel secure in their relationships. That is why you see it. That's all. Insecurity.

How many hot women do you see with fat dudes? How many fat women do you see with handsome dudes?
In my office, more people talk s**t about the grossly obese men behind their backs, and less about the grossly obese women behind their backs (even though one women in particular is way larger). Actually, the fat people who catch the least crap seem to be the ones who are funny. All the fat people I know who are dating people who are sexy all are funnier than I am. So you may want to learn some jokes if you're humps are lowriding.

Fat men are given a pass in society. Yet, they walk around with their bloated, Type II diabetes guts, labored breathing and still pull in ladies.
More importantly, most don't care, whereas most fat women obsess about it.
It will catch up with them though, "performance issues" arise, their health continues to decline, and they start buying Corvettes to overcome their own insecurities.

THIS IS TRUE BECAUSE THE MAJORITY OF MEN ARE INTO LOOKS AND ARM CANDY, FEMALES ARE MORE INTO BEING TREATED NICE AND HOW A PERSON MAKES THEM FEEL. HOWEVER, A BIG WOMAN CAN BE TREATED JUST AS NICE, SHE HAS TO HAVE SELF CONFIDENCE AND HAS TO BE ABLE TO BYPASS THE "LITTLE BOY" COMMENTS AND KNOW THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF SUPERFICIAL IDIOTS THAT ARE GOING TO MAKE THEM......LIKE THE "GUY" ABOVE ME.

I'm not fat, but what always confused me was, why do fat people stay fat when they get made fun of?
Lets face it, not everyone is gonna be nice about it, so why not just be healthier and lose some weight?
All it takes is a healthy diet and some exercise.
But to answer your question, yes I think fat men get off easy.

when i was in school there was a couple of heavy guys in my class. they got picked on by the girls all the time. women can be just as mean or meaner than guys.
