That's a good question! Chest pain is hard to diagnose and when it's YOUR chest, anxiety and fears play into what you're feeling. Even doctors don't always know...
chest pain that radiates toward or down your left arm is the classic symptom of heart attack; gas pains are more likely associated with bloating or belching. Don't make the deadly mistake of ignoring either; pain is always a call to some necessary change or action.

if the pain persists, even for a few hours, it can be your heart, gas can usually be relieved using an anti-acid. there are other heart symtoms such as arm pain, back pain, upper chest or any combination of these. only an exam can tell. if a heart problem, a blood test will show elevated enzyme levels in the blood. if you think it may be your heart go to the er immediately.

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.
The difference is that heart problems usually happen during or after periods of exertion. Stomach problems will usually appear after drinking carbonated beverages or eating vegetables, or when heart-burn is present.
Either one needs a doctor to help you out, and both can be treated and addressed. Good luck.

Ask your phamacist for an over the counter gas remedy. If the pain is still a problem, then yes, it could be a heart problem.

yeah sure, your phamacist will probably give you a gas pipe.I asked mine for something for wind and he gave me a kite.
Serious for a moment,I have had both and I know and you will know that they are completely different sensations. If gas , force yourself to burp(selzer whatever) ,the other pain has cold sweat and a tightening in your chest like a belt around it
