Especially in Abrahamic faiths it is just the fact that the words mean essentially the same thing but have different sources.
God comes from Old English (Anglo-Saxon). Allah is Arabic.
Both words convey a very similar concept.
Something to remember is that the Muslims and the Christians are both originally branch sects of Judaism that have grown to dynamic size and popularity, so the God idea for each is very similar.

First of all, who says there's only one God? Some religions, especially the most ancient ones, believe there are many Deities; and that explains the variety of names;) second: who says there's actually one or even more Gods? People who have Faith, and Faith is undisputable, so people are free to believe in whatever they wish and give God a different name according to their beliefs. Third: who says there are no Gods at all? Non-believers, and they also have the right to non-believe. So, in short, it doesn't matter what you believe in and what name you give to the source of life, just be good and respect everybody.

Because there are MANY different languages and many roots to those tongues. As long as the understanding of one God who loves us all is the important thing, we should all strive to understand and appreciate the differences in each of our religions.

God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ) and God the Holy Spirit.
Do to other languages, of course there are more names.
In the Bible there are other names for Christ, one is Emanuel, meaning God with us.

I AM............ we as humans call God by this human equasion. God is everything everywhere and all encompasing. It is too hard to ponder, He is all..........................................................................., like it says in the bible you can never imagine or know until the day we meet our maker, then you will understand. I think you should feel more and ask less, faith hope love Peace
