I do not want to hear that evolution crap, it is a theory, and theory's cannot be proven. If you believe you came from apes that means you are an animal, and animals do not have any perpose in life. And if you do not believe in life after death that means your life has no meaning because you live then die. Where did the big bang come from?Really what is your purpose in life, why were you born if there is no God(and there is)Me I was born for the glory of God. If there is no God then life is meaningless, and if there is not God you are a mistake, and if you are a mistake then your life is definatley meaningless. So why were you born. So does this mean I can call you guys an accident? I can prove there is a God, but can you prove there is no God?

Funny. You don't believe in a "theory" but you rather believe in hear-say, fantastic, magical stories.

You win sir, you really do.

Ohhhh man, where do I even start with this one...

"I do not want to hear that evolution crap, it is a theory, and theory's cannot be proven."

Look up the definition of "scientific theory" and get back to me. (Not theory -- SCIENTIFIC theory.)

"you are an animal, and animals do not have any perpose in life"

If we're not animals, then what are we? You do realize that science classifies human beings (homo sapiens) as animals just like monkeys and elephants and giraffes and all the other species out there, right?

"if you do not believe in life after death that means your life has no meaning because you live then die."

Ridiculous. Atheists find plenty of meanings for life without God. Look at Bill Gates (a total non-believer) and all the charity work that he does. You think he hasn't found his meaning?

"Where did the big bang come from?"

No one knows, but "God did it" isn't a very satisfying explanation for some of us.

"If there is no God then life is meaningless"

Again, ridiculous. Are you trying to tell me that if there's no God, you can't function in life? You can't form relationships? You can't build a career? You can't enjoy movies, TV, books, nature, science, the arts, writing, socializing, working, computers, music? You can't be happy? Life isn't just Sunday morning at church, ya know.

"does this mean I can call you guys an accident?"

What if we really were an accident? So what? Does that somehow affect your ability to live?

"can you prove there is no God?"

No I cannot. Just like you can't prove that there is no Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Talk about a self-righteous, closed minded person who needs to believe in an afterlife for our lives to have meaning. I think my life has a meaning and purpose and I don't feel the need to believe in some unproven, mystical crap that was originated when humans didn't have as many answers about life and the universe as we do today and will continue to learn more about. You can't prove the existance of god as much as I can't disprove it. There is evidence all around us for billions of years that proves living things evolve. That doesn't mean we came from apes! It also doesn't prove the origin of human beings began with evolution or the big bang; however, how could you dismiss such scientific truths or theories and claim that you and you alone are the one with al the answers. Humor me...prove there is a god.

Belief in a principle of what is now known as Scientific Fact, I.E. the evolutionary principle is hardly a theory any more.

Read - The Beak of the Finch.

Theorys are not things that cannot be proven, for that matter, but things that are not yet proven. This is not the case for evolution, which is considered to be proven.

AS for me, I am Buddhist, and I don't really care if my life is meaningless in your sense. You imply that the meaninglessness of life is caused by lack of your God-idea and a Heaven-based afterlife.

My life has meaning because I live it now, and I do what I can now to make it have meaning.

Call me whatever you want. I am not even an atheist who might think of the world without a sense of spirituality.

In fact, go ahead an call me a pagan.

your question is valid, and deserves to be answered, but evolution is no theory, you can see it happening around you, natural selection really happens. I believe, though, that the greater force (god, if you will) started things in motion (say at the big bang) and he knew just how everything would proceed from that very moment. You could even say he steered evolution. That way you can believe in god and not have to buck scientifically proven fact.

another thing is, you cannot prove there is a god, if anyone could do that the whole world would be christians the following day. Your religion is no more valid objectively and scientifically speaking than any other, hinduism, taoism, or black mass for that matter. look at your statements and try and shoot holes through them. That is what religous critics love, blind unbacked faith. to see someone so fervently believe in something it consumes them and they stop looking for real answers and real truths.

Without god there would still be meaning to life, what about forewarding human development and culture towards a peacefull and (truely) equal society, what about yourself getting ahead and making a better life for your descendents. Just because there may be no god to punish or reward you according to the rules that moses brought down from the mountain, that doesn't mean that you on this earth, on the mortal plane, cannot make a difference in your time.

much love and respect, syme T hopkins

there is no proof that life has any meaning at all. you are opperating under the delusion that life absolutely has to have some definite purpose, which is ridiculous. and we are animals, we are mammals, i thought most people knew that by now. you make so many stupid assumptions here it's hard to decide where to start. first of all, a theory is an idea that can be proven, but has not yet been proven beyond all doubt. in case you hadn't noticed, the reason we call religion "faith" is because it is something that you have to accept WITHOUT proof, because you cannot prove that god exists. just because god doesn't exist doesn't make me an accident, my parents wanted to have a child, so they did. sounds pretty intentional to me. i can't imagine anyone wanting a kid as stupid as you though, so you must be an accident. in order to understand the big bang you need to understand very complex physics and science, and you can't even understand how to speak english properly. you seem to be really confused about life, so much so that you don't really understand the world, which is sad and laughable at the same time

Your right, at this point the big band theory is just that a theory. But who created God? And you should know there are people who think life in meaningless, and they are happy with that.
As far as theories not being able to be proven, you obviously didn't pay attention when you were taught the scientific method. Its not that they can't be found true, they just haven't yet. I don't remember there being solid proof of God, Jesus yes, but no proof of god.

When you asked this question you knew what people were going to say, so why don't you just deal with the fact not everyone believes what you do.

A scientific theory is not something that gets refined until it becomes a law. Gravity is a theory too, but if a theory cannot be proven, how come you're not floating around? The God theory sounds a lot more like crap to me than evolution. And you really need to get a life, a life with spelling lessons. Or at least graduate from pre-k first.

Every time a christian tries to disprove atheism, it's the same line. " If God didn't create the world, who did"? Perhaps this question could be better phrased "If God didn't create the world, how did it come into being"? or "If God didn't create the world, what is the meaning for its existence"? There are a million ways you could restate this, and actually get an answer that might satisfy your question. Atheists don't believe the world was created, so your question is a bit like asking "If Santa's not real, who delivers all the toys to the good little children of the world on christmas"?

Why ask a question and then refuse any responses in advance. The existence of GOD can not be proven either, that is why it requires FAITH to believe in GOD. Science does not prove that MAN evolved from apes, it only theorizes and sets out to find evidence that they are of the same genus; in fact they share 97% of the genome that human life is made of. Similarly, bears and canines are genetically related, as are reptiles and birds.
As far as your life having meaning goes, you have free will and you can choose whatever meaning you wish your life to have.
Some people wish for their lives to be meaningless, so they smoke crack for a living, or molest children. Others wish to be lead down the merry path and rely on others to tell them what to believe and how to believe it. Others still make there lives meaningful by helping those less fortunate, or being the best parents they can be, or becoming healers or community leaders, or artists.
God makes no choices for you, but if that's all you have to live for, you're missing out. Besides, I met GOD - she's black!!

Please, please add you facts that God created the world in seven days at the bottom of your question. I am sure you must have cold hard evidence for you don't believe in theory only reality and facts.I am so eager to share your facts, and it is your Christian duty to do so.This must be Your purpose in life. For I know a good Christian would not tell lies nor exaggerate on such a serious matter, would that not be sin?I look forward to tomorrow. When I will be able to read this fantastic information.
I and many others will be very grateful to you.
I am sure the addition too your question will enlighten me for up until now I have been under the illusion that we basically have the same purpose as animals. We are here to procreate and maintain our species. Also that our earth evolved over millions and millions of years!
Should you not enlighten us with your facts, it must then be judged, that your statement is another case of "beware the one that protests his innocence too much".I'm sure that is not the case.
Till tomorrow then.Best wishes
