He is still young, but seeing that he is partially potty trained I see how this can be difficult. I would honestly possibly bribe him ( I know mean), but it does work sometimes. Say he needs to go poop in the big boy toilet, and he can be like all the other big boys. If he still seems like he has his privacy issues, I would set him on the toilet when he has to go, and step out and see what he does. Tell him mommy needs to know when he has to go poop. Also I am assuming he has "pull-ups" I would maybe go and get ones with neat characters on them, and tell him if he can go potty in the toilet then he can wear them.

Its all a freudian thing. My sisters son would not poop on the pot for years. He was ready to start kindergarten when he finally decided to let it go. As a matter of fact, he refused to let it out. He would get so backed up with poop it literally made him sick. She had him to the doctors more than once. He loved to poop in private under the table, behind the couch etc. Its really not that uncommon.
I think you should praise your little one for doing his duty on the big boy potty and get him that special toilet paper with the paw prints on it by contonelle and make a happy time out of pooping on the potty. Try to arrange so it is a private time for him each day at the same time. Feed him fresh fruits and veggies. Juice etc. and make sure he doesnt get plugged. Eventually he will do it.

Poops in private where? I say keep an eye on him and catch him before he does it, then plant him on the toilet. I let my babies watch me got to the toilet, then they want to copy daddy. There's lots of good books on it

I would give it time its probably all about the privacy he has got the general Idea that he should go poop in the toilet if you give it time and he still doesn't then talk to his pediatrician.
