Yes I believe it does, and has nothing to do with religion. Karma is a sum of all that we have done, are currently doing and will do. We all go through certain processes and accompanying experiences throughout our lives which we have chosen, and those would be based on the results of our own creations: "karma". Karma is not about retribution, vengeance, punishment or reward. Karma simply deals with what is. The effects of all deeds actively create past, present and future experiences, thus making one responsible for ones own life, and the pain and joy it brings to others.

It makes sense to me. Most people know the difference between right and wrong. They act (usually) through choice. Energy can't be destroyed, so i see no reason why both reincarnation and Karma aren't reality. But even on a purely materialistic level, Karma can be seen to work (though not always)

All the signs are it does, always has and always will.
In scientific terms it's the same as 'cause and effect'.
In a physical world every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
In religious and ethical terms 'Reap as you Sow'.
The laws of Karma (action and reaction) pervades the universe.
Only sadness is in the fact that many do not believe this.

'The Complete Idiot' is a most appropriate name of the selector.

Karma is the law of cause and effect. Each action, even the smallest will have consequences. To a buddhist every action, thought,or word is important and has consequences.By seeing clearly how we cause harm to others by our own selfishness,we can take personal responsibility for reducing the suffering in our environment.

Karma only exists if you have a conscious about what you are doing wrong. If you are a bad person, and do not care or think it is bad, then you cannot consider it Karma when it happens to you later. You simply call it bad luck. Karma and bad luck happens to everyone, only you choose which one you are, and live with it. It is part of your destiny, and decisions.

Yes...

"The complete idiot" does not understand the concept. It is not completely accurate, you don't get back exactly what you put in. If you ask me Hitler had a pretty bad life, just look how it ended. Karma, right there. He put so much negative energy into the world that it festered and came back to get him. Look at Mother Theresa, she put much good into the world and it came back to her. Too many people complicate the idea, thinking that Karma rules everything in the world. My "stupid" belief isn't crushed in any way, shape, or form by his failure to understand it...

Karma from the Sanskrit "Kama" means actions.
If your everyday actions are real, then Karma exists, for every action (or cause) has its effect (Karma).

Yes I believe karma exists for without working out our karma... none can live in the present joyfully(;-)

Karma is that fundamental aspect of life which runs in the background yet controls the manifest destiny of every living being. Without karma the cosmic creation of almighty God, the cosmos itself would not exist.

No individual being has his personal karma. As is being preached in the West... no individual ever has karma. The readings of karma can never be recorded by one. Nor can the best of astrologers and seers tell from experience what would be the shape of our karma in the future.

The Definition karma in short would be the process which results in the purification of our soul atman within the body. The eradication of dross from within our soul atman is possible only because of inherent karma.

The physical work we perform cannot be simply termed as karma. The residual balance of karma of every human being nay living being continues from one manifestation to another. If reincarnation would not have been there... karma itself would not have existed. The presence of karma confirms that reincarnation is not a myth but an absolute reality.

Before we discuss on the good karma and the bad karma, I would further elaborate upon the meaning of karma itself. Why at all karma had to be created by God Almighty in the first place. Can humanity survive in absence of karma? Can the cosmos itself survive in the absence of karma?

If we look at karma from the beginning of time... a point in the creation itself when the big bang took place (It is now a confirmed fact that our present cosmos owes its existence to big bang theory and is not a misnomer). Now, God Almighty is about to explode with the big bang. The Definition God Almighty being the sum total of all purified souls atmans in the cosmos at a given point of time. Absolutely. Everything comes back to us, and even tho I don't intentionaly DO something to someone, I think of mental revenge, and I've got the worst luck in the WORLD to prove it.
I'm cursed.
I mentally tell off my boss, my car gets stolen.
I wish a jerk of a co-worker would just get a new job (and not succeed) and go away, the people get in a car accident and total my car.
That person succeeds and I hope their company folds, the jerks that stole my car lived and are suing me for 5 MILLION dollars.

I need to stop thinking. Karma's a real B.
