Prejudice is, as the name implies, the process of "pre-judging" something. In general, it implies coming to a judgment on the subject before learning where the preponderance of the evidence actually lies, or formation of a judgement without direct or actual experience.
If a consumer pre-judges a particular product to be good without experiencing the product, then it is likely that the consumer will purchase the product. If on the other hand he pre-judges the product to be bad then he will display an unfavourable response to the product and he will influence others not to buy the product. Hope this helped!
