First of all we are the church and God is not the author of confusion. I believe you use this for an excuse not to be a part of a religion. You are afraid it will change something in your life.

We have prophets that speak the word of God. You either believe them or you don't.
My prophets are documented in the Christian bible and that will be the source of my answer.
My observation is that people with the same belief form a group, a church if you like. Where groups differ in belief, we find conflict. My observation is opposite of yours: people's beliefs set people apart.
You said you believe in God. Which God? The God of Moses? The God of Jesus? The God of Muhammad? Where does your belief in God come from? And where will you find a group of like minds to support it.
Religions is just a set of beliefs that one lives by. The puzzle piece is you and where your religion fits.
Are you damned? God, not man, judges.

The churches are very conservative in nature. They try have their influence on the local religions and try to convert them to their religions or atleast create differences between them . And the rest is history. I can cite many examples but i rather not. Iam not saying that all the churches are the same but most of them are like this.

Of course. Religion violence is never generated by the followers. It's the leaders who get the gullible followers to do their dirty work. Did Bin Laden himself fly an airplane into a building? Religion is a business in disguise, a very competitive business. I have never heard a religious talk on the acceptance of other religions. But I've heard a lot on "Go out and witness, get people to change their beliefs to ours". (and put their money in our collection basket).

I think Satan sets different believers against one another. But when you say believers, I assume you mean Christians who believe in Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice, otherwise you are not using the word correctly.
However the Bible also clearly shows that a major underlying cause for division among believers is carnality - that is, lack of spirituality. (see I Corinthians 3:1-7)
As to your statement "Am I damned?", may I suggest you want to be very sure of being correct in your answer.
"He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him" (John 3:36) Where does that leave you?

Some churches unfortunately do set different believers against one another. They have a very "us versus them" mentality that I think is very dangerous. I prefer the churches that stress unity. I don't think you're damned at all!

I believe it's the devil that keeps the chaos going so all the different religions will stay separate.
The devil is the only one that would have anything to benefit from it anyway!
