There are harnesses that you can buy that that will control these types of behaviors. The pieces that attach to the collar go under the front legs and attach to the leash. These pieces will tighten when the dog pulls and cause some discomfort in the tender areas of their front legs. The dogs learn fast not to pull on the lead. It only takes a few times for them to learn. Keep your dogs on leads when people are around. Also, teach your dogs to stay off people by using the word "off" and correcting with the harness or a choke chain to reinforce your voice command. You can also use your knee to bump the dog in the chest while using the word "off" or "no". Soon they will learn not to jump on people. Please be sure to reward the dog for getting off. I prefer praise instead of treats. Dogs eat it up! Pardon the pun.

SHOCK COLLARS are >> Never!! << for basic training: they are for 'proofing', and even then, when the dog KNOWS what they are supposed to do, i do Not recommend them.

the single most-common side-effect of shock-training is AGGRESSION - right now U have untrained pups who are racing up to greet ppl. they jump on them, but are not biting, growling, or threatening. if U use a shock-collar, months or even YEARS later, U can have previously never-before aggro pop up.

get Ur pups into a basic-obedience class that is POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT: if U can't find one locally, get a clicker and learn on Ur own. simple and highly effective training instructions are found at

USE A LEASH - no more fruitcake dogs running around! sheesh - this one is not the dog's fault, so roll up the newspaper, look into the mirror, and chant 'bad human! bad human!...' while smacking Urself over the head with the rolled-paper.

jeepers - shame on U! what did U expect the pups to do? 'heel' off-leash? U haven't schooled them at all, and U are complaining about >their< behavior!

if U were kept in a pen from 18 mos to 10 yrs age, about these pups' equivalent, tell me:

how good would Ur manners be? would U know which fork to use for salad? would U know to use a tissue to wipe Ur nose? I THINK NOT ! ;)

Don't let off lead where there are people around. (leash laws).. And maybe keep them in the house with ya.. I used to own and breed springers and I would never stick one out in a dog run alone! Take them some place where they can run off energy where there aren't people around.. Or even a dog park with other dogs..
