Here's a good one for you . Rap and hip-hop music is considered 'criminal' by many of the over 40 crowd . Criminal, degenerate, and overall irresponsible . So when a automobobile manufacturer advertises a vehicle with hip-hop or rap in their jingle, it 'turns off' nearly everyone over 40 . Agree with their opinion or not about the 'values' of hip-hop or rap, the fact is, people over 40 Hate it . And seeing that otherwise attractive vehicle, advertised with the 'wrong' background music, will affect buying decisions .

Prejudice, racial stereotypes, cultural biases... call it what you want but it happens and unfortunately some media firms still try to capitalize on this type of advertising and marketing.

well...if someone is prejudiced against blacks, and they see a product being advertised by a black person, then they're not going to want to buy the product. also, if there is a product that is typically used or associated with someone of a different race/gender/etc, then a prejudiced person won't want to buy it, and the product won't do so hot on the market.
