Otherwise, not really. It does have a shelf life, but who would leave a decent old scotch LONG enough to go off?

It depends...
Is it open? Open liquors have a shelf life of about two years. Does this mean you can't drink something that's been open longer? Of course not.
If it's not open, it's going to be great. Scotch does not continue to age once it's bottled, so if it is unopened, it's just like the day it was bottled.

No, it really shouldn't go off, ever. Because of the high percentage of alcohol. The only way it could get spoilt is if it has an ancient breadcrumb in it or something! xx
