Yes you are right, and no you should not answer if you do not have knowledge of what's being discussed. How ever the people who answer questions here find it more important to rack up points....

u should never answer to a question untill u have good knowledge on to the topic because it always leads u to trubble watever the case may be...

No, it is not right. Some questions are really a request for opinions in which case it is all right to express one's.

it defeats the whole purpose of the yahoo answers agenda. i'm pretty sure it says somewhere in the community guidelines that you shouldn't answer just for points or with bad information. people just shouldn't post answers if they don't know what they're talking about.

nope its not....
but sometimes even you are an expert and telling you from your expertise you will not be noticed as the best answer.... i dont know why.....so better answer anything for two points.. its just the same.... if you use your expertise, you get two points... if you give a dumb answer you get two points.... so thats my delimma..
