My boyfriend and i just bought a $1000 treadmill that was on sale for $800. Try to buy a better one during a sale. As long as you are using it for normal use and not in a high-traffic manner, then yes a treadmill in that range will be just fine.

I bought a nordictrack at sears a few years ago, that was really nice, $300. Although I didn't get to use it but twice, apparently the motor couldn't handle my weight at the time (250-260), which is the whole reason I bought the treadmill!, duh, lol. I took it back (they pickup and deliver), and got a nicer one for about $575 on a small sale they had, and it is awesome. It has aromatherapy, fans, book holders, cup holders, all the vital and calorie burning monitors etc. Even has a special system that can vary the cushioning of the walking surface, which if you have bad knees or ankles is great. Also, which is my fave feature, it has this program called ifit or something like that, which makes it able to hook up to your Tv Pc or stereo. You can buy cd's that vary the workout (incline speed etc), and have music to go along. Also, when hooked up to your PC, there are websites that have virtual reality workouts, where you can watch a scene, like a walking trail, and it varies the incline and speed of the treadmill along with the program you are watching. I really like my treadmill, and I think it was worth the price. I'm not sure if my model is still offered, but there is a LOT in your price range at Sears, and other stores. Just make sure that you research whatever model you buy (I looked mine up at epinions and other consumer sites), and preferably have a chance to try it out in the store. Also, as I learned, it is helpful if the store can 1. deliver it 2. assemble it 3. pick it up if there's a problem (these treadmills are very heavy), and also that the store has a liberal return policy. Good luck!

Perhaps. Do you want the treadmill for running or walking? How much to you weigh? If you only want to walk, and don't weigh too much, the $700 treadmill may be adequate. Shop around. You will get a bunch of opinions and sales jobs.

I bought a Spirit treadmill from a bicycle shop for about $1200, and I'm very happy with it. I weigh 285 and use it for fairly fast walking.

You know what just start walking, that is a lot of money to spend
on treadmill that you might park it on balcony after few use. You
can walk 30 minutes to 45 minutes every other day., for at least 3 to 4 days a week. It works. The gym may work for short period but you will give that up after you fork up your money cause you have to make time and you got to be disciplined. Walk you can make it routine.

Instead of a treadmill, you should get an 'elliptical' machine. Upper and lower body workouts, and little to no impact. Check them out at your local fitness store, or heck, just Google it. If, however, you are set on a treadmill, get one that is programmable and also inclines. 7 bones(hundred) is reasonable.
