If you don't know scripture, then please don't answer the question. You are watering down the gospel, and you will be held to account.

Scriptures that support the chastening of the Lord:
Hebrews 12:5-6:
5 And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as children? It says,
"My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,

6 because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
and he chastens everyone he accepts as his child."

Hebrews 12:11:
11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

Psalm 94:12:
12 Blessed are those you discipline, LORD,
those you teach from your law;

Americani asked if he was being punished by God. While I wouldn't use the word "punished", it is indeed possible he could be being disciplined.

This had to be said.

Sorry if this offends, but sugar-coating the Word of God does no good. I can give you at least 20 more scriptures that support that God disciplines.

Yep, God can discipline him with it, same as He can heal him of it.

He already knows that answer, or he wouldn't have asked the question. Right, American?

Please email me.

Furthermore, if you look at the other answer, I said he "could" be being disciplined.

If you're a Christian and you can't handle this simple concept, you need to be studying the Word of God more. These scriptures are self-explanatory.

Punish and discipline mean the same things.... and I can respect what you are saying here, and I agree this is why I did not answer to rather or not what God's judgment was for the young man. I only answered that I agreed with David T on the fact that God is not a Christian God. I did not have the answer to his question only God does.

"Americani asked if he was being punished by God. While I wouldn't use the word "punished", it is indeed possible he could be being disciplined.
This had to be said."

However you are now in so many words answering the question, may be not out right but you are answering. " it is indeed possible he could be being disciplined."
None of us know what God's plans are, and I have never experienced him having a problem revealing his plan to his children. God's will is God's will and what he has for me is for me, and what he has for that young man is for him. God makes no mistakes. It is up to him to pray and ask God if he indeed is being punished and if it is God's will he will receive an answer according to his faith. Not your will and definitely not mine. I welcome God's chastening in my life (God's Chastening) not man's. God uses his word to tell us when we are wrong, and he has not appointed me Shepperd among his sheep so I stay away from all shoulda, coulda, woulda's when his word is concerned. So I guess the question should not have been put here, and people should not have tried to speak for God.

Good scripture,
I believe i answered the same question. as i said there, there really is no way to tell. It is possible, but it could be just random. he is really the only person that can tell. if it has been sent from God then he will feel the chastisement of God in his heart. hopefully he will do the right thing and come back to God to receive forgiveness. and afterward use this experience he has been through to strengthen his love for Christ.
The only time Isreal ever seemed to serve God is right after chastisement. Christians now have more than Isreal had. We have the strength and presence of God himself. The holyghost. This can give us the strength to stay strong with God. But we must have faith.

Your God "disciplines" someone who doesn't believe him with epilepsy?

Gimme a break. If the only answers your Bible can give is that, then I say your Bible is not the answer.

Sounds to me like God will punish anyone who answers a question with a different interpretation of Scripture from you.

1Corinthians 14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
