Well, since you didn't list your height, I can't really determine whether that's the appropriate weight for your height. However, you can type in your height and weight into an online BMI calculator and that's how you can check if you are the right weight. Now, if you want to lose weight, the best thing to do is to slowly change your diet by eating healthy foods, working out (don't do it excessively! that won't make you lose weight! your body needs time to rest and recover after a workout, so don't obsess about exercising), and do not worry too much. At 14, your body is still changing and you will probably still grow so your body will continue to change and your weight will probably go down as you grow. Also, set realistic expectations and don't change your diet so much that you can't keep it up. Remember, you should NEVER only "diet" for a short time. You should be "dieting" continuously by eating healthy foods in appropriate portions. That way, you will continue to lose weight until you reach your goal and you will not bounce back to your original weight when you begin eating normally again after your "diet" is over. Good luck! :)
PS: The first commenter on your question is SO mean. You should totally disregard her comment. She just has nothing better to do than insult people who are nicely asking for help.

start eating smaller amounts. do this a little bit at a time. eat whole grains (they come in breads, spaghetti, brown rice is better than white), vegetables and fruits, preferably fresh or frozen. canned is the last possibility. fresh or frozen are much better. milk and cheese. also get some regular exercises. it makes it much easier to lose weight than how you eat without exercising. find something you really like to do and do it on a regular basis. but, keep an eye on your weight. you are young and have alot of growing to do. only weigh yourself every 2-3 weeks because weight often fluctuates and weigh yourself first thing in the morning. good luck

Exercise, just as rollerblading, gym work, or basic walking (not mall walking, either, that doesn't work). I have found that Slim-Fast replacement shakes work well, too. Cut down on sodas, even the diet ones can still cause weight gain. Shortly cut down on things you like that can be fatty, such as if you like ranch salad dressing, and balsamic and vinagerette for awhile until you're happier with your weight. Of course, cut down on fast food. I would suggest that you take your own lunch to school as well, since school food is always fattening and unhealthy.

Hey, don't worry about your weight, you're weight is actually probably average for someone your age, but if you want to loose weight work out, swimming is the best exercise, and eat lots of veggies and dairy, that's how Heidi Klum lost all that weight after she had her baby!

soups can be both filling and comforting try making a garden or bean soup with low salt broth and store in portion sized cups for later
