I have spybot already?

Question

I already have good spyware and antivirus downloads. Why is this so hard to figure out? Am I just asking the wrong question? It seems to me that this should be very simple. I just don't know much about computers. How do I erase a stupid page that comes up every time I click on my internet icon? It's the yahoo web search page.

It's because somehow your home page was set for yahoo web search page. To get it of it next time after you open the browser (IE) go to Tools, Internet Option. On the General tab you can set your home page to Blank page or any web site you like and click OK.

This has nothing to do with any malicious program that you feel that may be on your system.

Almost all browsers have a feature which enables the user to goto a certain page/website of his/her own choice. Now your default website of your browser seems to have been to the Yahoo Search Page.

If you wish to change this then you can do so by following the instructions given below.

1. If you are using Internet Explorer, then goto
Tools>Internet Options>General Tab>

Here you will find the Option to set any other website as the default page. If you donot want any page Then Click on the Use Default Button.

2. If you are using Mozilla Firefox, then goto
Tools>Options>Main>

Here you will find the Option to set any other website as the default page. If you donot want any page Then Click on the Use Default Button.

After making the necessary changes you Can click on Ok to make the changes permenant.

So now the next time you start your Browser, it will follow your command ; ).

I suggest that you try to carryout system restore to a day previous to the day when there was no virus or any problems. It may be a few weeks or months back. You have to decide the date. Detailed instructions are posted at http://fixit.in/systemrestore.html
