To lose weight by exercising you have to consume less calories than you use. Eating healthily is great, but if you are over eating, even healthy food, then the weight will not leave. Never drop below about 1500 calories a day.

If you were a 150 pound man (these calculations use math so I'm doing some guessing and rounding, will try to clarify later) you will burn 100 calories for each mile (speed has a greater effect on heart abd lungs).
weighmore= burn more
woman burns slightly less due to less muscle mass
