In a no rules fight, who do you think would win in a fight between Chuck Liddel and the best heavyweight, or light-heavyweight Shaolin monk. Shaolin Kung Fu in America is a joke, but the younger practitioners in the monasteries of China that actually spar, are pretty hardcore.

Im going with Chuck Liddel.

Well Joseph, hes not exactly a little guy. He's 6'2 and 205 pounds. Anyway, I see him knocking out pretty much any Chinese shaolin exponent in an underground tournament...

If the monk had a valid self-defense reason to fight Liddel, not just fighting for the sake of fighting, Liddel would be dead in less time than the shortest UFC knockout.

Why you guys bow down to MMA and UFC and BJJ is funny. Herd mentality I suppose. They're great in these kind of tournaments for sport.

You guys are ridiculous. You are comparing apples to oranges and its the incorrect way to look at things. Obviously Liddell is one of the best fighters in the world. But if you are on the street fighting for your life all the rules go out the window. No one can withstand a finger to the eye or kick in the nuts or someone pulling your hair, that **** hurts. I got poked in the eye before, trust me, you go down, and if the finger goes near the temple you lose all equilibium and just drop. The new UFC and Pride is made for television, there a great martial artist and fighters that would never step into a cage because these people train to do whatever it takes to survive in a fight. There are no rounds or time limits or rules when your fighting for your life. Chuck is beatable, I've seen it a few times. He's one of my favorite fighter too, but anyman is beatable. The UFC does'nt have anyone that can compete with him. He's not even a heavyweight, that's a whole new ballgame. A heavyweight who is excellent in Jui Jitsu and would be strong enough to take the Iceman to the ground could definately tap him out.

I'll stick with Chuck, lol. Although the monks may spar, Liddell fights for a living and has a far more well-rounded game. Shaolin monks spar with...shaolin monks. Liddel (and all sports fighters) fights against many other types of arts and fighters, and has a much better chance to adapt in a fight than someone who fights people who are practicing the exact same style.

Everyone can do hardcore training in any possible way. However in end human will pass out without oxygen reaching their brain, skeleton will break, brain will rattle against skull, joints cant' be bent wrong way without discloating, and the list goes on.

Chuck train to do all those. Shaolin train to do stunt and form. So my moneys is definitely on Chuck.

Edit: Oh and don't forget he has thumbed people in eye.

I pick the monk. The true monks in China do crazy hardcore training not even UFC fighters do.
