Many times if you eat the whole can you could get 90% of your daily sodium, the amounts are astronomical. There are some brands that allow you to add salt to taste, and others that are lower. It seems so unnecessary, and some of these brands are suppose to be healthy for you.

never healthy......most of the time, sodium is a preservative, if not, still beware! it could be zzzapped to the point of no nutrition........make your own(recipesource.com)or go to whole foods market!

The sodium or salt helps with the preservation and keeping them fresh while they're sitting in the can.
