Moderate is very likely in the eye of the beholder. To an Atheist probably a good person who does not bother them. To a liberal Christian probably themselves and to a conservative most likely someone who is luke warm thus perhaps not a Christian at all.
The way to measure would be first to establish who actually is a Christian.. Scripture says you will know them by their fruits. Those are all those things like charity, acts of random kindness, healing teaching, etc. A fanatic would be one who continually producing more and more fruits. This person could easily be like a Mother teresa but if their gift is Evangelism then they may be perceived as irritating by some. The teacher might become a zealot as well but not as irritating because he is less likely to be out there among those who are not seekers yet if you are in his class you will feel like u let him down because u did not do your homework. A liberal teacher would be less challenging but insightful and interesting, probably less structured.
With a gift of hospitality they would go from taking in every passing misionary to one who did it well when asked.
Qualification to be a minimum Christian is one who is heading in the right direction (developing his gifts and being obediant and trusting of God and His word) expressing more fruitful qualities next year than this. A fanatic runs along the development race path, siezing every moment to produce more fruit. Somewhere in between would be the moderate one, learning developing, paracticing but probably not standing out among a group who meets the minimum qualifications but who would stand out among a group who were just professing Christians and had no actual relationship with God.

Moderate Christianity is the branch that puts God before a man-tampered book.

A moderate Christian is someone who holds an intermediate position between the liberal or secularist view and the conservative, orthodox or fundamentalist view.
So for example they might reject the conservative notion that the bible is inerrant, but might also reject the more liberal notion of universalism.

Anybody in their right mind would answer: "my own kind of Christianity is moderate. Anything more conservative is radical fundamentalism, anything less ocnservative is liberalism"
Because nobody thinks of themselves as immoderate.

An oxymoron.
Words of Christ, Revelation 3:16:
So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

Danged if I know. Maybe you should poll average people who happen to be Christians. There are only Yahoos here.

"I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were cold or hot!, So because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of My mouth" (Revelation 3:15,16)
