as a technical answer, no. If God created Adam out of the dust, and Eve out of Adam's rib, then they cannot have been born from another human, therefore not having a umbilical cord, and therefore not having the resulting navel.

Very good question! I had to stop and think on it. If one believes the bible story, then both Adam and Eve weren't born the way we were. The purpose of the navel in us all wouldn't have been necessary in them, because they weren't nurished in the womb.

Depends on if you believe in creationism, or evolutionism. If they were created, they would not have navels. Navels are a scar created when the doctor cuts the umbilical cord.

Just another creationism or evolutionism question, though kudos on some originality in the way it was asked.

Probably not since they were created and the navel is the life line for a baby when it is in its mothers womb.

Adam and Eve do not exist. We are not descended from them we are from the Neanderthal man.

I believe they did...why wouldn't they...?

[edit]
Just because they appeared out of nowhere doesn't mean that they didn't have navels. When I used to have Bible studies (YEARS ago), I had this picture Bible and I'm pretty sure they have navels in the pictures.

yes. adam and eve didnt appear out of nowhere. genesis is a metaphor written by the people to explain things. but it is still very holy. adam and eve evolved from more primitive humans but they were THE FIRST HUMANS. they didnt appear out of nowhere, but their were at some point two of the first humans and they did sin.

ppl ppl. they wouldnt need them....belly buttons are where babies are nourished from their mothers. adam and eve were not "born", so they wouldnt need them, and therefore shouldnt have them. Good Question. I dont believe in that stuff though.

i dont think they would have, as they were not actually born. however, it is possible that they could because god knew what he wanted humans to look like when he created them, so he probably foresaw that future generations would have bellybuttons, so he maybe gave them to aam and eve also

Nope...No umbilical cord was needed because there was no womb so the story goes.
