Twice I have had episodes where I have been unable to control muscle movement. Two days ago when I went to the Emergency Room for a migraine I was given an injection of phenigrane and sent home. The headache went away but when I got home I could not move any part of my body. Everything was numb. When I first started noticing it my lips were going numb and I felt like I was having a hot flash. Then the numbness moved to the rest of my body and all I could do was ask my husband to please carry me in the house. I couldn't hardly talk and I assumed maybe they have given me more phenigran that usually and I was just very tired. He brought me in the house and wanted to take me back to the hospital because I was really pale and my heart rate was very high. My skin was very clammy. About 30 minutes later or so give or take I started feeling a little better and made myself eat something and later went to bed. I felt physically weak but other than that I felt fine. Today however I had another

episode. While I was washing dishes I started feeling very hot and I felt my lips going numb again. Then the rest of my face and my ears. I stopped what I was doing and took my earrings out because my whole head felt like it was on fire and I was uncomfortable even in my clothes. I went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror and my face and neck and ears were beat red. I decided to sit down for a few minutes in case I had gotten to hot or something and my arms and legs started burning too. My husband was just getting home from work and noticed that I was really red and wanted to know what was going on. I explained to him and he started looking at the red spots all over me and said it looked like I had a rash. About 5 minutes or so later I lost all control of my muscles and started shaking uncontrollably and having chills. About 30 to 45 minutes later it passed. I couldnt hardly speak and my tounge felt like it was too big for my mouth. My friends thinks I had a stroke but I am only25

Yes I have taken phenigran many times over the last couple of years I have never had any kind of adverse reactions to it before. I also have a prescription for it that I take as needed when I have these migraines. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't but its never done anything but make me sleepy before.

I'm thinking you mean phenergan? The side effects of which can be severe drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, dilated pupils, flushing, nausea, vomiting, shallow breathing, and fainting. It is an antihistamine and therefore can affect the nervous system. Whether or not you've been given an overdose I'd say you are suffering from a reaction to the drug.

you can email me with your answer, but did you ever take phenigrane prior to two days ago? If not, my immediate response is that you had/have an allergic reaction. One way or another, it isn't normal, and you should acknowledge your husband was right in sending you back to the hospital. Best wishes

That could be so many things. Maybe just a reaction to the medication...like maybe you are allergic. And I don't want to scare you...but I think you should go in and have an MRI scan. Maybe it is something more serious.

Its probably a reaction, or you may be allergic to that medicine...your best shot is to go to a specialist and make sure everything is ok.
