i have no idea how i should do this because she's always been going on about how she 'has a feeling i wanted to dump her and she's been down about it all day ...' she made me promise to her that we'd always be friends so i hope that will happen. she's really sweet and all but i think the fire's gone. She's a great girl, and i think that if i just kept it going for about half a year she would dump me (i've tried this before), but i think i want to move on.

Be straight forward with her and just tell her...

Don't prolong. The idea of keeping it going in hopes that the other person will dump you NEVER WORKS. Just be honest. Let her know how you feel, and let her know soon. The longer you wait, the worse it will be for you and her. You can still be friendly to each other afterwards. This is the only way you can move on.

Such feelings are difficult to convey in person. So write a beutiful letter to her expressing your true feelings (no email pl). Pack it in the most attractive envelope u can lay your hands upon and tie it with a beutuful decorative thread. Then take her out for coffee ( nothing more). Just before departing thank her for everthing , give her a long hard kiss, handover the envelope to her and run. Dont look back. I think it should do the trick.

How old are you? after a half a year the "fire" always goes away and then reality hits. We are not full of piss and vinager forever. Basicly what I am saying is if you think she is a great person but this fire you speak of is more important to you then that, then spare her and just tell her you are an ***. Have at it, good luck, she will be better off.

You are doomed, the whole let's be friends thing tends to be touchy because of her future boyfriends who might be jerks and need an asskicking. Then it would make it look like you are still interested in her adn it can bad from there or actually work. It's a crap shot. But be honest with her first of all and do it someplace semi-public you are both comfortable in.

i think that if u have been 2 gether 4 a long time then it would truly hurt her but if u want 2 move on then that means u don't really like her ur heart is not adicted 2 her so i think u shouldn't have had her starting from a young age if u r small not that young

Honesty is the best policy. Tell her the relationship is not working out and it's best for both of you to look elsewhere.
I myself don't like to be patronised by the likes of: let's stay friends, or it's me not you... so make a clean break. You are bound to have better luck next time.

You want to let her know why she's being dumped. Just be honest. She'll hate you still, but she'll appreciate the honesty. But I understand your dilemma. I'd much rather be dumped than have to dump someone.

Be honest with her. Tell her that you just see her as a friend and you just don't feel the same. Tell her she is a nice girl and bring her self-esteem up and say that there will be someone else who likes her for who she is. (Kinda even out the "rejection.") You just don't feel the same way.

If you do end up dumping her just make sure that you tell her the truth, that way you guys can still be friends and she will still trust you without it being akward.
