cranberry juice is good but not the kind you buy in the store, look at the label, it is mostly water. if you have a juicer, juice real cranberries and drink some every day, the pain and the infection will go away faster. mix with fruit of your choice to sweeten the taste, it will be bitter. also eat a lot of yogurt. see your doctor again and give him/her the details, might be something else going on..

Call your doctor's office and ask the question. Doc may want to see you. If you have any kind of urinary infection, drink a lot of cranberry juice or eat cranberry sauce. Also, when you are finished with the antibiotics get yogurt and eat that once a day for about a week. The yogurt will replace the "good" bacteria that will be destroyed by the antibiotics.

It could be that you didn't have a kidney infection at all and were misdiagnosed. You can go to www.wrongdiagnosis.com and enter your symptoms, it will generate a list of probable illnesses you may have. Also, I would reccommend that you see your regular doctor, who knows your body and your history, instead of going to the ER. I find that ER docs are very inpersonal and can diagnose you without running all neccessary tests or asking all the neccessary questions. You may need to see an OB/GYN if you have been exposed to an STD.

does your pain from the flank move down to your abdomen? if so I would go back to the dr and get some xrays done to check you for kidney stones, often when you have kidney stones you will have a kidney infection with it and it can hurt you more andmake you very sick. have your dr take some xrays and if they wont go to an emergency room , and are you running fever, pain in your flank moving down to your abdomen is a big sign for kidney stones. please get checked out again
