A long time ago my friend showed me a bunch of bible scriptures about how men are greater than women and stuff along those lines, no offense meant by this. Its purley for a joke for one of my friends but i know there are some passages in the bible somewhere hinting at that, does anyone know any?

There's a list of verses dealing with women in a negative light. The rest of the site is good, too.
Here's one of them...
"For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. For this reason, and because of the angels, the woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head;" 1 Corinthians 11:9, 10.

Actually no where in the bible does it say men are greater then women. It just says there are certian things a man can and should do and certian things a woman can and should do for their family. Passages that you might have been shown were not stating that a man is better then a woman but actually what he should do instead of the woman. Just might have misunderstood the meaning.

That is a fairly recent Idea . As the Jewish religion was first a Matriarchal Society and all Deities were feminine in nature. They made as big a mess ruling their parts of the world as men do today ruling by muscle mass.This is why they changed to a Patriarchal society . the men thought they could do a better job of ruling on their own. And look at the mess we have created. It takes a balance of both sexes to rule the world better.

The bible does not say men are greater than women. It does place men in a position of spiritual authority above women. This is a different concept.
God is the head of Christ
Christ is the head of man
Man is the head of woman

The bible says that men and women are equal the just do different things and that they complete each other not the woman completes the man is there for the man.

While scripture describes different behavior for each gender it never states man is superior that is an interpreatation made by people of both sexes but it is not stated so in scriptures in the Bible. He does say to serve is superior and many tasks outlined for woman is to be of service.

The Bible does not say anywhere that men are better than women. It only says that both men and woman have specific duties and positions in life. Men should do what God said men should do and Women should do what God intended women to do. Both are equally as important.

I dont thank men are better than women ,or women are better than men god says we are all the same and thats what you are gonna find in the bible . Not anyone being better than anyone so you can keep looking but i dont thank you will find your answer in thair

there isn't really anything that says men are greater than women. but in genesis there is a thing about eve having to be controlled by her sexual desire for adam or something like that, and about male slaves costing more than female slaves.

I can tell you Psalm 68:11 refers to Christian women as a large army.
