The vet said to give her Cimetidine (Tagamet) because it is probably acid reflux. When there is green grass to eat she eats that and is fine but after the grass dies she gets sick. I give her one pill about 6pm and then another one at 8. Sometimes this does the trick but sometimes it doesn't. If she throws up, she throws up about every hour all night long. I've tried feeding her some at night instead of feeding her just in the morning but that doesn't seem to matter. I feel so sorry for her because I can tell she feels bad. I have both her parents and neither of them has ever done this but she has done this for approx the last 6 years. I just wondered if anyone else has had this problem and what they did to alleviate it. Thanks!

Why not grow some grass inside for her? If grass relieves these pains I would! If sprouts would help grow these and give these to her.
Very easy and very cheap, make your indoors smell good too :0)
It is not as crazy as it sounds, really! Anything for our critters :0)

You could buy her some food for sensitive stomachs from the vet.
Before you do that, though, go to a feed store with some big bales of hay and grab about a shopping-bag's worth when the manager's not looking, or pick it off the floor. Moisten some hay in water or broth every day and see if you can get her to eat it. Maybe the fiber will be enough to quiet her stomach and you won't have to buy special food.

Have you changed her diet to see if it helps. Here is a trick my vet taught me. Boil a pound of hamburger and about three cups of rice. Drain the fat and let it cool. Feed the dog in small amounts as she will tolerate it. The Dog should not have acid reflux for that long.
