I enjoy riding the bikes in the gym, but I'd like to know if there's something that will simultaneously work on both areas.

I'm 5'6 140 lbs and it all floats to those areas for some reason.

I wouldn't have answered, but the previous answers are inadequate. A direct glute exercise is the Mule Kick, where you lie face down. Pretend your doing the start of a pushup, with knees bent (and you're resting on your knees). Now, beginning with your left leg, thrust or kick your leg up and out, high as you can. With no weights, it needs to be 15+ reps, then switch to your right side. If you're not going to go to the gym (where they have a specific machine for this exercise) then eventually advance in intensity by wearing ankle weights. Glutes and hips work together with such exercises, so you have to do a separate exercise for abs. The most common are crunches (for upper abs) and leg raises (for lower abs). Famous bodybuilder Frank Zane recommends you build up to 4 sets of 25 each ab exercise, followed by twists with a broomsticks, 100+ reps ea set

Stairs and/or squats for the butt.

Abs...good old fashioned sit-ups, try using that big exercise ball for assistance. General, over-all exercise will help.

Or, if you want the easy way out, do as the celebs do...go under the knife!
