Seems nudists can be just about any religion. The nudist philosophy as I see it is we should not be ashamed of our bodies and just being nude isn't necessarily sexual. Well, in some cases things just need to be covered and they are right - it isn't necessarily sexual - sometimes the opposite.

Why not? I've known nudists who are Wiccan, Christian, and even one who was Jewish! God (or the gods) knows what you look like naked, after all.

You can't be naked and be a Christian... give me a break! Do you take a shower in your bathing suit?

Besides which, not all of us who practice social nudity do it for the effect. Some of us just enjoy the feeling of being free of constraints. There's nothing that feels quite like the wind against naked flesh. It's like being kissed by the goddess.

EDIT: And here's another thought...

If we all gave up clothing, acts of terrorism and violence would become a lot less common. After all, you have considerably fewer places to hide things when you're in the buff.

Well a muslim cant be a nudist as it would be against the rules of hijab:
1. Complete clothin from ankles to wrist
2. Loose fighting opaque garments (should not be body tight)
3. Head to be covered for women

but if u r lookin for a religion satanism promotes nudism as a part of its rituals, plus u even get to participate in their sexual orgies

anybody can be religious about anything, but its not the true religion that God requires. Now if you want to get naked in public, the bible says you have an unclean spirit, which is the opposite of the true religion! Gods Holy spirit! So yes something is wrong here!
And to answer the question what kind of religion would this be ? it would be a pagan religion!

Yes, indeed. My husband and I are social nudists and we are also Christian. There is no contra-indication between being a nudist and being a Christian. Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise is ignorant and narrow-minded.

I do not know about other religions, but you can be a nudist and a Christian. God doesn't care what you do or don't wear. Modesty is good, but if you aren't you can still be Christian,

Sure they can, though many mainstream religions will consider them to be outcasts.

Interesting to note, many Pagans perform rituals purposely in the nude so their bodies can be closer to nature. Such a naked state is called "skyclad." Some Wiccan traditions require rituals to be performed skyclad; others allow it; some reject the notion.

Personally, I do not perform skyclad rituals--unless they are before or right after a shower (usually, such rituals are for spiritual cleansing).

I actually stumbled across a Yahoo Group just last night that was for Christian nudists.

No clue which religions would or would not allow it, though I imagine Islam, traditional Judaism, and Hinduism would most definitely not.

Ah, see? Heron proved me wrong. I should've stuck to "no clue." oops... :)

Mostly polytheistic religions. Hindus meditate for hours, even days, nude. Many Native Americans were not too shy about their bodies when the Spanish first discovered the "new world".

Unitarians probably do not frown on nudity. Nor do liberal other Christians, such as the United Church of Christ.

It's called Nudism! Seriously there is such a word lol. But I am not sure it is considered a religion or not. Although the animal right activists would consider it to be one!
