I need to make some anonymous calls (long distance) from my house. Does a calling card provide this anonymity? The call is "free" because it's a 1-800 numbe that you have to call through, but does it show up on the monthly bill even though it is a "free" call?

I forgot to mention, if a number does show, is the the calling card's number? or the number of hte person I called? (so far one person answered, but I need more answer to verify).

Ahh I should have specified... this is for a landline.

I need anonymity from the people viewing the phone bill... not from the person whom I'm calling.

are you talking about a cell phone? or a land line? It won't show up on cell phone bill unless its roaming! It will not show up on your land line phone at all! Hey anonymous calls, didn't you watch CSI? They tracked this guy down by a calling card, and some say it could happen, along with the camera technology we have in convenient stores now a-days! Be carefull, anonymous calls can be very harmful!

1 800 numbers do not show on your phone bill. They will register on your call logs that the phone company has but it takes a court order to get those. However your home number will show up on the other persons caller ID unless you have "private name private number" service. A calling card allows you to call from anywhere and have the call billed to your home number.

The toll free number will not show. However, your phone number will show on the other person's Caller ID.
