If you have GERD, there are things you can do to help prevent or reduce your symptoms. Some tips to try:

Avoid foods that can cause problems for you.
Eat smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day.
Don't eat right before you go to bed. Wait 2 to 3 hours between eating and lying down or sleeping.
Try sleeping on a special wedge-shaped pillow. Or your mom or dad might be able to elevate the head of your bed on 6-inch blocks.
Don't wear tight clothing — like snug jeans or a tight belt — around your middle.
Follow your doctor's advice about your weight. In some cases, losing weight can help GERD. But never start a diet without consulting with your doctor.
Keep a diary of GERD symptoms. Record your symptoms and see if there's a pattern. Do the symptoms happen after eating certain foods or doing certain activities? If so, you'll know which foods or activities are OK and which ones to avoid.

Certain foods can also make GERD worse. Here are some of them:
spicy food
greasy, fried, and fatty foods
chocolate
peppermint
carbonated and caffeinated drinks, such as cola or coffee
ketchup and other tomato products
mustard and vinegar
citrus fruits and juices

Girl, you need to do several things:

1) Doctors haven't found anything physically wrong with you, so you KNOW its anxiety and panic. Don't freak. A panic attack will pass!

2) Cut out the caffiene, eat less sugar & (if appicable) smoke less cigarettes.

3) Talk to your doctor about some vitamin suppliments. Poor nutrition will actually make your symptoms worse.

4) Have you been perscribed any anti anxiety medication? If not, you may be to the point where you need to bring this up with your doctor.

5) Go to the bookstore, get the book called 'From Panic to Power' by Lucinda Bassett. It will help you deal with any anxiety issues you may have.

6) Take a deep breath & calm down. You are freaking yourself out and making yourself worse.

7) Get your weight & food under control. Your food and prediabetic status will actually worsen your problems. There are instances where your sugar is fluctuating and you think you are having a panic attack....instead its just your sugar levels.

8) Take a yoga class. They helped me, they will help you. If you cannot afford one, then at least go for a walk every day. It is good for you, and the excercise will increase your endorphines and make YOU feel good.

9) Know you are not alone. Know you can beat this and be happy.

God Bless and Good Luck to you!
