I think my cat ate some poo or was exposed to some outside and the dog has giardia.
She somehow escaped the house and now I think she might get it from the dog.
I gave her some dewormer but will this help??

Your cat, and a sample of his poop (I know it sounds yucky) need to go to the vet. The vet can test and see what the cat needs. You cannot use dog medicine on cats. They have completely different systems and metabolize things differently. You could poison your cat if you do that.

Just take a plastic sandwich bad and put it over your hand inside out. Grab a piece of cat poop and seal the bag. Refrigerate until you go to the vet. Not as hard to do as it may sound.

Take the cat to the vet. There are many different kinds of worms only the vet can tell for sure what kind of worms the cat has and IF dewormer will help her condition. To expedite the diagnosis bring a stool sample from the cat when you go to the vet.

Nope.
You aren't sure what's wrong with the cat. Treating incorrectly can do just as much damage as doing nothing at all.

OTC wormers are not effective anyway, even if they would work on Giardia, which it won't. They only work on tape worms, depending on the drug. Read the label AND...

No, giardia is a protozoan parasite, and not a worm..It doesn't respond to wormers..
