because you muscles need a bit of recovery time hun!! Just like if you were to run a marathon, the next day you wouldn't be up to running another. But the day after that you may be willing to try!!! That is the point of pushing youself. On that day where you have successfully pushed yourslef to the limit, give yourself some TiME TO HEAL, then try and push yourself harder. Muscles need time to heal before their limits are tested again!!!

, Your young, son, your body is still growing... That includes your muscles. Sounds like you are fairly new to the game so give your body some time to adapt to the stress of resistance training.
Keep doing them every day because you are only using body weight, and in about three to six months you will notice that you are able to do 50 push ups every day maybe more. Make sure you get 8 hours of sleep a night along with a well balanced diet.
I recommend drinking a carbohydrate enriched protien drink after
you do your push ups. Good luck.

Exercise tires the muscles that are being worked. It is most effective to alternate upper body and lower body workouts. Your muscles need time to refresh. I'm not saying to quit the pushups every day but maybe realize that if you work one set of muscles too hard, then they won't show up to play the next day. It's normal. Keep up the good work. ;>

a few thoughts on this question:
1) could be dependent on what you eat and drink that day...i.e. not enough water and your muscles get dehydrated and lactic acid build up faster....also depending on carbs and other food intakes that day may contribute to have well your muscles respond.
2) Time of day matters....if one day it's first thing in the morning vs after a long day of physical activity if you were to do them at night.
3) rest between workouts .... muscles need 24 hours minimum before they can be fully exerted - when building muscle to recover.

Lactic acid build up, go to your local GNC and Buy some HMB (Beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate). These pills will help contorl you lactic acid production and makes you incredibly strong buy helping protein synthesis and decreasing muscle breakdown. Your body produces this substance but in very small quantities, really beneficial for all athletes. You can also get it from eating grapefruit and catfish.

Your working to hard that one day, so your worn out the next day. I'd say just do 25 instead of 50, and you can probably do it day in and day out.

Because you're probably exhausted from doing the 50 the day before... Build up on your exercize gradually, & mix it up alittle. Variety is the steroid of life!

Your muscles need a day between workouts to repair themselves and rest. You will actually do much better if you rest every other day.

Your arms are sore, you're out of shape, .etc? There could be plenty of reasons/factors...
I suggest you add other exercises to your daily routine. What I mean is, don't just exercise your arms everyday, you want to have a "balanced exercise". You want to include leg exercises, ab exercises, "glute" exercises, cardio exercising, .etc...
