No puppy should leave their mother before 8 weeks of age but waiting until 10-12 weeks is best. If you are having trouble house training, crate training is the best and easiest way of going about this. Here's some information on it:

I have chihuahuas and 8 weeks is very young. They should really be 10-12 weeks before taking away from mother. But if the pup eats and poops, it should be okay. Please be sure it gets lots to eat and drink because they can get low blood sugar really quickly and die. If the pup seems listless, give it some Karo syrup (they will usually lick it off your finger) about 1-2 teaspoons. I don't know what you mean by #3 poops unless you mean diarreah and that is not good for a small puppy. The Karo syrup will also help with the diarreah. The best thing for dogs with diarreah is canned pumpkin. Not pumpkin pie mix, just plain canned pumpkin. For the small chihuahua, couple of tablespoons will stop the diarreah, but also works for a big dog, just give more. If the puppy is crying in the night, it could either be lonely or cold. The chis get really cold and need something extra to stay warm. A hot water bottle, a warm blanket, in the bed with it or you can take a big mans sock and cut off the toe end and put it on the puppy like a sweater. You can cut some small holes for the front feet to go thru. Where do you live, cause if you are close to me, I will take it if you don't want to keep it. I love my chihuahuas. Please take good care of the baby. I am in Texas.

8 weeks is the right age. ( a bit older would have been better but you already have the pup so whats the point in telling you any different?). I hope it was vaccinated and dewormed before you got it...
allow it to cry - if you give it attention when it cries it will ALWAYS cry for attention...
runny poop can be from sudden food change - you should remain on the food the breeder was feeding it..
please I hope this pup wasnt from a pet store.....
ok also if the poops are black, runny, and smell bad.. then get the pup to a vet ASAP
DO NOT take your pup for walks or anything untill it is FULLY vaccinated...
spay at 6 months or neuter at 8 months

A small breed pup such as a Chihuahua is better staying with its mom until 12 weeks. Get a very small crate and keep it in the crate for sleeping, when you are not home or not available to watch it. A trip to the vet for a check up would not be a bad idea. Bring a stool sample so the vet can check for worms.

A Chi shouldn't leave it's mother till 12 weeks ideally. 8 weeks is OK but not best. A new baby will cry at first. Don't give in! It's hard but she has to learn that she won't get what she wants by whining. Tough love :-) If you want him/her to sleep in bed with you later on then start now. Mine will sleep in bed when I get her (Labrador).

Congrats on your new baby! A chi puppy should be 8-10 weeks old before leaving its mother, If a very tiny chi pup, about 12 weeks old. I use x-pens to train my pups. They are shown in these pix.

You can get them at your local pet stores. Leave them in there at night, while you work, go to school, are busy elsewhere. Put a bed, food water, puppy pds or litter box in the pen. Good luck and enjoy the little one.

8 weeks is fine . make sure the pup is WARM , watered and fed.
these dogs are too small to get cold. big danger. i have no idea what a #3 is. but if its the "runs" be careful not to dehydrate... these tiny's have special needs... i hope you read up? if not get busy learning. do a search . mean time keep warm, food and water. keeping it close to your body will be the best it is very young. make sure food is soaked and warn.

ok- how is it which you have bred your dogs and you do no longer understand this already?? 12 weeks for toy breeds. they could be totally weaned by 8 weeks of age and had 2 rounds of vaccinations. The domestic dog customer does the 0.33. i might get "jellybean" spayed if I have been you.

I BREED YORKIES AND THE SMALLER BREEDS I RECOMMEND 12 WEEKS OF AGE...THE SMALLER BREEDS NEED TO NURSE LONGER AND BE WEENED LATER...IT MISSES IT'S MOMMIE....USE A HEAT LAMY AND STUFFED ANIMAL FOR IT TO SMUGGLE WITH...JUST KEEP IT WARM..NOT TOO WARM...IS IT EATING OKAY...THATS IMPORTAINT....I ALWAYS TELL PEOPLOE BUYING PUPPIES FROM ME THAT IF THE PUPPY ISN'T DOING WELL ON IT'S OWN PLEASE FEEL FREE TO BRING IT BACK TO ME AND IT'S REAL MOMMY TILL IT'S A LITTLE OLDER...I HAVE YET TO LET ONE GO TO SOON. ABOUT THE POOPING...IT'S STILL A BABY..SO THAT'S NORMAL...GOOD LUCK AND IT MIGHT STILL BE TOO YOUNG TO LEAVE ITS MOTHER....

He's a baby. What would you do to comfort a human baby? It works the same for a puppy.
